Willie reiterates the importance of properly indexing and gapping your rings, and shows a quick trick to put a ring on a piston. He discusses “I” versus “H” beam connecting rods and why replacing the pistons for a supercharged application is wise, then finishes up by installing rods and pistons on the Hemi.
Willie gets back to work and discusses what Arrington Performance has done on his 392 Cubic Inch 5.7 L Hemi, from raising the cam shaft and shortening the push rods, to C&C head porting, and changing out the lifters and push rods. He wraps up with installation of new heads.
Kevin shows a trick with the oil pump and how he updated the gerotor set so he can use his stock pick up and stock windage tray from his Gen 1 Mustang. He then mocks up the bottom end and fits the new oil pan on the engine before installing a new Cam drive.
We’ve got a bright yellow C7 in the shop today and Kevin and Willie are installing new specialized long tube headers, exhaust and other extras to make this already robust platform even more powerful.
